Key information
Homework - Spellings and Maths homework will be given out every Friday. Can we please ask that all homework is in school by the following Tuesday of each week ready to be updated.
PE - Year 2 PE days will be on Tuesday and Thursday. Please ensure your child's PE kit is in school on these days.
Reading books - Reading books will be sent home on different days of the week. Please read with your child and sign their reading journal. Return the book to school on their reading day which will be written inside their journal.
Children should bring a water bottle to school everyday.
As we enter the Summer term and are hopeful for the warmer weather and are looking forward the exciting events taking place this term including our trip to Pizza Express and Sports Day.
This half term we are looking at Why do animals choose the habitats they have? We will be learning about different habitats in the United Kingdom.
Our Maths focus is consolidation of addition and subtraction strategies and applying them to word problems and different contexts. We will also be learning about fractions including halves of shapes and amounts.
Please continue to practice quick recall of times tables facts so your child is secure in their knowledge, particularly using the 2s, 5s and 10 times tables. You can continue work on their rapid recall of number bonds - adding numbers up to 10 and 20. You can do this using Times Tables Rock Stars at home or numberbots. Your child can also log in to their Purple Mash account at home to complete 2do activities that have been set.

Online Safety
This week Year 2 have been learning about being safe online and have been talking about our "Online Reputation". We discussed how we feel about sharing images and videos of ourselves on the internet. Here are our views.
